Musician | Composer | Choir Master | Theologian


Born in 1963 at Chellanam, Cochin, Deltus discovered his passion for music at a very young age and grew into a distinguished musician, theologian, and choir master serving both India and Rome.

Early Life & Formation

The eldest son of Dr. T.G. Augustine and Mrs. Sophia Augustine, he began as a Tabalist at the age of 8 in St. Sebastian's Church Choir, Chellanam. His early mentors included Mr. V. X. Tom and Mechole.

Later joining the Carmelites, he pursued philosophical, humanitarian, and theological studies under Fr. Dominic Maliekal OCD. His thesis, "The Theology of Music", completed for his B.Th. at Vidyajyoti, Delhi, reflects his deep integration of faith and music.

Musical Journey

He pursued studies in Piano with Maestro Francesco Mariani in SPMT and Electronic Music and Sound Recording with Luca Spangnoletti at Saint Louis College of Music in Rome. He continues his musical studies under Maestro Alessandro Capitani.

He composes music and lyrics, scores arrangements, and records compositions at his home studio. He has produced several musical albums and devotional songs widely used in liturgical celebrations in Kerala.

Service & Recognition

He conducted the Choir during major Indian events at St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican, including the Canonisation of Saints Chavara Kuriskose CMI, Euphrasia CMC, Mariam Thresia CHF, and Devasahayam Pillai.

At present, he serves as the Choir Master of San Giovanni dei Fiorentini Church of KRLCCI in Rome. He is also a Journalist of Radio Maria, India, and Correspondent to Jeevanaadam.
